Gaming News #1!

Welcome to my Wednesday night gaming post! I had multiple ideas about how to go about this; at first I was just going to skip this first one and wait for something more interesting, then I decided to post it and shove a whole load of screenshots and info in, but in the end I couldn't get any good screenshots, so behold: My Wall of Text.

So over the last few weeks all of my gaming time has been dedicated to three games; Tribes: Ascend, MineCraft and lastly, a little bit of Terraria. Sadly, I have had very little time and/or patience for WoW lately so not much has been happening over there.

So on to the first: Tribes. I have been newly introduced to this game just last week, and so far have enjoyed it thoroughly. I am usually not that much of a fan of FPS games, the only few I have really played being Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield 2, however after being introduced to this game it has taken a fair chunk of my time of late. The high speed action and high skill level required to perform well in this game make it instantly take my interests.

Tribes: Ascend isn't just another one of those point and kill games, where you sit on top of a building and shoot the enemy before they can see you, it's about speed; being in the open and moving fast, but still being in control and able to counter enemy moves. If you get too much speed than you're used to, you will lose control and be vulnerable to simple movement anticipation, but if you're too slow a large radius blast will one-shot you. You need to be fast, and you need to be good.

However as I said before I am not that much of an FPS fan, and who knows how long I will stick to it. We shall see with future posts and I may post some screenshots in future if I work out how to get them to work.

On to MineCraft. If you don't know what it is, I don't know who you are or where the rock have been living under is, but with the introduction into reality once more, you will find out very quickly. I have been playing MineCraft since Alpha and it has changed a lot over time, however it is still great. Though I have played it less recently due to changes in the game, I am planing to get back into it and see what I can do.

Lastly, Terraria. Originally claimed by all to be a "2D MineCraft clone" this game has moved far beyond those tags to become a huge and completely unique game. Not a game played well alone, on my first attempt I only just managed to defeat the first boss alone before a friend came to help out, we then defeated every boss in the game (at the time) and sat around doing nothing. The modern game has expanded well beyond what it was at that time and added a whole new level to the game after beating one of the harder bosses. Sadly, the game is now announced to be completed and will not be updated any further from this point on, but nonetheless a great game with a lot of different possibilities.

I've also decided I'm going to be naming a "Game of the Week" for each week when I post my gaming news. So it has been decided that this week's 'Game of the Week' is... Need for Speed: Underground which I have had gifted to me just yesterday so I may very well post some info and pictures of it in next week's gaming post!

Until then, enjoy and be ready for my 'My Life' themed post in 2 days time.

Decisions and LAST Hybrid Post (maybe)

Okay so I've finally come to some sort of plan for my schedule. I've decided that I will be posting gaming news on Wednesdays, anime/manga news on Sundays or Mondays and just my daily life on Fridays.

Fridays suit my general life as the whole Uni week will be over, so I will have a weeks worth of boring stuff to talk about. Wednesdays for games because it's away from the other 2 and Monday and Tuesday I get to Uni nice and early to spend hours playing games. And Sunday/Monday for anime/manga because weekends are most likely when I will have time to watch anime, and I at least know Hunter x Hunter comes out on Sundays.

So for now that's all the hybrid posting I will be doing, we will see what happens from here and hopefully I will start to get some more constructive posts made. Hopefully in the next few days my Hunter X Hunter manga will arrive and I will have something to talk about by Sunday. Tomorrow is Wednesday here, so I may very well post something about games, but as I've posted this today there is always the possibility I won't.

Until then, have fun.

Off to Uni

Good evening, all. Just started Uni yesterday so I haven't had much time to do anything during my free time, which is very little with all the travel I need. Still fine tuning the details with that so for now I won't be getting much done. Still working on a schedule for posting info, considering maybe 3 times a week; One for Games, one for Anime and One for info on how my life is going.

Enough on that for now, time to get on topic. As of recently I have only really gotten to watch one show; Kaze no Stigma, which, so far seems pretty great. Almost finished it so I will see how it turns out. No games played really except WoW, and even that had very little time. Guess that's about all for now, hopefully will get more on topic when everything settles down a bit.

The return of anime

So after some computer related issues with a friend of mine today, and after spending the whole day attempting to fix said issues only to come home to WoW maintenance, I have some free time to myself.

At the moment I am current in a bit of a stand-off between shows I want to watch, and Uni will be starting next week restricting my time somewhat, so that means I need to get things done while I can. At the moment I am looking at catching up with at least a few shows, namely; Naruto (which I've been struggling to watch lately), Natusme Yuujinchou, and Another.

If anyone has any other recommendations of what I should watch, please post the in the comments.

Also as a side note; I'm currently not sure as to how often I will be updating this blog, or how to go about formatting my post properly, or even how often to do recommendations or anything. I guess I will see in the coming weeks and try to get a schedule set up or something.

I'm back! (Again)

Okay, I know I haven't posted in a while, however I have recently gotten a new laptop and if I can remember, I will try to post more often now!

Since last time I posted I have finally finished those few games I started, I actually just saw that I started Final Fantasy XI last time I posted, last week I tried to recover my account to it, which, being the fool I am, I have lost for good now. Anyway, onto my post.

I have recently been watching a lot of anime (Natsume Yuujinchou, Another, Ano Hana, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and much more) however I would like to point out two in particular; Hunter X Hunter (the 2011 remake) and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, as those of particular interest. Personally, I would consider these as my current favourite anime, and would recommend them to each and every one of you, if you are interested in anime.

Anyway, that's all for today, I hope I still have some people out there who would take interest, I plan to do man more anime and video game recommendations in future!

I'm back!

I've finally returned from my outing, which involved a lot of Dissidia grinding and a little bit of Pokemon Black, which I intend to finish soon. I've managed to clear all of Dissida 012's 012, 013 and most of 000 stories, and unlocked all characters bar Feral Chaos (unlocked by defeating level God-knows-what Feral Chaos with approx 130k HP) whom I intend to unlock soon with my newly formed team of level 100s in full Lufenian sets; Firion (main), Cecil (soon to be FF4 DLC outfit), Warrior of Light (Fighter outfit), Kain and Vaan (tactics outfit). However, Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthday will be released soon (with my Aya outfit for Lightning) so I will need to complete it as well.

To make matters worse, I will be out of comission yet again for 3-4 days as I have work tomorrow then grouping up with friends to attend the Supanova Pop Culture Festival on Saturday. After this I intend to complete Dissidia and Pokemon, hopefully in time for Parasite Eve, before the Finishing Final Fantasy II and maybe playing a bit of III before IV: Complete Collection is released at the end of April...

Just to go down on the records my Final Fantasy stats are as follows:

Completed: I, VII, X, XII, XIII
Completed (Non-main series) - VII - Crisis Core, VII - Dirge of Cerberus, X-2, XII Revenant Wings, Dissidia
Owned/In Progress: II, III, IV (soon to obtain PSP version as well), VIII, IX, XIV (cannot play due to shitty graphics card), Dissidia 012 Duodecim
Unowned: V, VI (waiting on both to be re-released on PSP/DS/PSN as I don't like my PS1), XI (too poor to pay for a monthly fee, though I already pay for WoW...)

Anyway... I'll have an update with some info from Supanova when I get home and hopefully make my posts more regular! Until then, see you soon.
